Banaue workers get free check–up
by Daniel B. Codamon / PIA

BANAUE, Ifugao – The municipal government will be providing free annual medical and dental check-up to all its employees.

This is pursuant to the ordinance which states that all employees, regular or casual, will be entitled to avail of an annual free medical and dental check-up.

The medical package will include complete blood count, urinalysis, fecalysis, blood chemistry, chest X-ray and electrocardiogram. The dental package will cover oral examination.

The ordinance was passed pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Code mandating government units to ensure and support the promotion of health of its constituents and the requirement that all employees must undergo annual medical check-up to ensure their fitness in the performance of their roles and functions as public servants.

The annual medical and dental check-up will be done by the rural health unit.

The municipal offices are assigned a specific month of the year when they can avail themselves of the free health services by presenting their identification cards issued by the local government.
