Feng Shui experts share Year of the Dog forecasts
by Rimaliza A. Opiña

The eruption of Mayon Volcano might be an indication of what to expect on the Year of the Earth Dog.

With the earth element dominant this year, Feng Shui experts said there would be more earthquakes and that travelers should be extra cautious because of the possibility of more road accidents. As earth conflicts with fire, diseases that affect the heart and stomach will also be common this year, said Adrielle Trinidad, a Baguio-based Feng Shui expert.

However, the experts also predicted that for the Year of the Earth Dog, the Philippines, along with other nations in Southeast Asia, would progress.

The Year of the Earth Dog is also a year for love, especially for those born under the Year of the Rabbit, although in terms of finances, they were advised to be cautious about transactions that involve money.

For those born under the Year of the Rat, it will be a good year but are warned about money matters. They should not gamble and  were advised to seek medical attention at once when ill or when someone from their family gets sick.

Those born in the Year of the Ox were advised to take care of their health and not to meddle in other people’s affairs.

It will be a good year for those born in the Year of the Tiger but they should avoid extreme sports to avoid injuries.

It will be a challenging year for those born in the Year of the Dragon.

Trinidad said because the Dog and the Dragon are clashing symbols, those born under this animal sign should expect obstacles and illnesses.

For the Year of the Snake, it will be a favorable year and there will be several reasons to celebrate various events in their lives. Because diseases of the heart and stomach will be prevalent, they are advised to avoid spicy food.

It will be a harmonious year for those born in the Year of the Horse. Trinidad added that a job promotion is imminent, but are warned not to deal with dishonest people.

For those born in the Year of the Goat, it will be a “mixed year.” They are advised to avoid frugal and not to overeat.

It will also be a mixed year for those born in the Year of the Monkey. They were advised to do more acts of charity and to celebrate special events in their life.

It will be a successful year for those born in the Year of the Rooster. They were advised to be diligent and maintain discipline.

It will also be a good year of the Year of the Pig, as long as they watch their health and be prudent when spending.
