by Daniel B. Codamon / PIA

LAMUT, Ifugao – The Department of Labor and Employment here conducted a career development and job placement seminar to 597 graduating students of the Ifugao State University (IFSU) to guide and prepare them to the different work settings.

Senior Labor and Employment Officer Isabelita Codamon and Labor and Employment Officer III David Damoyan were the resource speakers in the career development and job placement talk for the 426 graduating students of IFSU main campus on May 15 and to 171 graduating students of the IFSU satellite campus in Lagawe on May 17.

They discussed the current labor market information, labor education for graduating students; preparing job seekers for the world of work.

IFSU main campus guidance and counseling center chief Abigail Baguilat said the career development and job placement seminar is an annual activity for all graduating students to prepare them to become productive, committed, reliable, efficient and effective members of the growing labor force within and outside the country.

With the stiff competition among jobseekers, it is important to help and prepare the graduating students in terms of seeking employment opportunities and eventually landing a job that corresponds to their career, interests and skills, she said.
