Kalinga PENRO exceeds free patent titling goal
by Daisy N. Dasayon

Eighteen certificates of titles were recently awarded to beneficiaries of Barangay Malin-awa, Tabuk City, Kalinga under the government’s Handog Titulo Program.

The awarding of titles is a result of the teamwork of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office-Kalinga personnel under officer-in-charge Noel M. Barrientos and in coordination with the Registry of Deeds-Kalinga.

Barrientos said the awarding of titles is one of the 10 priority programs of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, particularly on the Improved Land Administration and Management.

He encouraged the people to apply for titles for their lands that are alienable and disposable and introduce improvements according to their uses.

For 2018, Penro-Kalinga processed and transmitted 238 residential free patents to the Registry of Deeds, exceeding its total target of 221.

It also transmitted 164 agricultural free patents out of the target of 150.

The applications were received from the field offices of Cenro-Pinukpuk and Cenro-Tabuk, which are responsible in the processing and evaluation of applications and forward the same to the Penro for final verification and transmittal to the Registry of Deeds.

Penro-Kalinga also surveyed 268 residential and 185 agricultural lots. The survey activities were conducted by the Licensing Patents and Deeds sections in the field offices which are responsible in the ground investigation and inspection.
