Building of Tadian, Mabalite FMR starts

TADIAN, Mountain Province – Groundworks for the construction of the P102 million worth Tadian-Mabalite farm-to-market road has begun last Aug. 18.

The 11.91 kilometers FMR which starts from Batayan to Mabalite, Tadian via Nacawang is the second segment of the of Besao-Nacawang and Tadian-Mabalite FMR subproject.

The project was realized through the I-Build component of the Department of Agriculture’s Philippine Rural Development Project (PDRP) – a World Bank-assisted national project. The loan is worth $501,250,000.

The PRDP is a six-year (2013-2018) initiative of the government envisioned to increase farm and fishery productivity and incomes in target areas in all 16 regions of the country. The program seeks to achieve this objective by improving access of farmers and other industry players to a strategic network of infrastructure, market information and support services. 

Implementation of the project is expected to achieve, among others, five percent increase in annual farm income, 20 percent increase in number of farmers and fisherfolk with improved access to DA services.

The mass and capsule-laying was officiated by Rev. Fr. Falen B. Bugnosen.

The project was awarded to RS Sepian Construction.

Provincial, municipal and barangay officials expressed their thanks to the DA for the project.
