CCTV footage of City Hall robbery suspect released
by Ofelia C. Empian

Police are now asking the help of citizens to identify the suspect, caught in the CCTV camera, in the robbery at City Hall on April 29.

Police Major Eddie Bagto, chief of the Baguio City Police Office Station 7, said they have released the image of the suspect, which was grabbed from the CCTV surveillance cameras at City Hall during the date of the incident.

“The picture is very clear that is why we are asking the community to report to us if they could identify the robbery suspect,” Bagto said.

Based on the police report, the incident happened at 8:30 a.m. at the Human Resource Office as reported by victims Ernesto Bayo Baniaga,  Zenaida Nisperos Ordinario, Maryjo Manuel Parnacio, Bia Santiago Beho, and Sabado Bagtoen Ugalde.

The victims reported that they left their belongings inside their office to attend the flag raising ceremony at the City Hall grounds.

The report stated that Ugalde, who was the last to go out of the office, locked the sliding door.

After the flag raising ceremony, the victims went back to their office and they noticed that a portion of the sliding door was destroyed. When they checked their bags, they discovered that their belongings such as mobile phones and cash were missing.

Baniaga declared that his blue Samsung A50 cellular phone placed inside his drawer valued at P17,000 was missing while Ordinario’sblack Samsung J4 cellular phone placed inside her cabinet valued at P11,000 was also missing.

Parnacio declared that her wallet containing various cards, payroll and government IDs were likewise missing while Beho’s gold Samsung cellular phone worth P12,000 could not be found.

Ugalde’s  Samsung phone kept in his bag valued at P6,000 was also missing.

Personnel from Station 7 responded and processed the crime scene.

The City Hall is manned by guards of Interlink Security Agency.

Bagto reminded  citizens to be wary of salisi robbers by securing their belongings even when inside their offices.
