HALL OF FAME -- Mayor Mauricio Domogan receives the National Gawad Parangal Hall of Fame Award as the Outstanding City Mayor of the Philippines (highly urbanized city) for three consecutive years bestowed by the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Inc.  for his contribution in distinct and commendable manners for the progress of the community that contributed to nation building.  City Social Welfare and Development Officer Betty Fangasan represented Mayor Domogan and received the award on his behalf during the 23rd LSWDO’s National Welfare and Development Forum and General Assembly awards night at Cebu City recently. -- Bong Cayabyab

The Association of Social Welfare and Development Officers, Inc. conferred on Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan the Hall of Fame award as Outstanding City Mayor for highly urbanized cities in the delivery of social welfare and development programs.

City Social Welfare and Development Officer Betty F. Fangasan received the award on behalf of Domogan during the annual National Social Welfare Workers Convention in Cebu City on April 24.

Domogan had been cited by the prestigious organization as Outstanding City Mayor for highly urbanized cities in the delivery of social welfare and development programs in the city for three consecutive years now, qualifying him for the Hall of Fame award.

The association stated that the Baguio mayor’s leadership caused the implementation of numerous local interventions that have resulted in the cascading to the ground of the different social welfare and development programs that lifted the status of the marginalized sectors in the different barangays of the city.

Domogan said that the award is in recognition of the individual and collective efforts of the officials and employees of the local government in making sure that appropriate social welfare and development services are readily available for the residents, especially those belonging to the vulnerable sector.

He said the Hall of Fame award is not only for him but for the local government as a whole considering that it was the individual and collective efforts of the officials and employees that made the social welfare and development programs of the local government work for the people.

He urged the concerned offices to continue introducing innovations so that more people from the marginalized sector in the city will be assisted.

Aside from catering to the needs of the members of the city’s marginalized sector, the CSWDO also extends assistance to the national government in the determination of the beneficiaries of various anti-poverty programs.
