DSWD-Cordillera recognizes top day care workers centers

Outstanding child development workers in various child development centers (CDC) were awarded accreditation certificates from the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Cordillera.

Those rated as outstanding are Eden Fajardo of Upper Rock Quarr CDC, Cerina Buendia of Baguio City Hall CDC, Liberty Gayo of Upper Quezon Hill CDC, and Editha Colas of Middle Quezon Hill.

The child development centers they serve were also granted five-year accreditations from Dec. 2018 to Dec. 04, 2023.

Camp 8, Loakan-Liwanag, Atok Trail, Kias Proper, Lualhati, Lower Gibraltar, Purok 15, Dominican-Mirador, Andres Bonifacio, BGH Compound, Lower Quirino Hill, Upper San Carlos Heights, Purok 4 Pinget, and Padre Zamora CDCs were also granted accreditation from Dec. 2018 to Dec. 4, 2022.

Those rated as very satisfactory child development workers are Jhuvinez Tabao-ican, Marilyn Tiotio, Annalyn Gawidan, Marcelina Ariza, Miriam Chagyomon, Grail Dalilis, Lucia Dumapis, Luzviminda Calsiman, Rowena Pangda, Dominga Labilab, Josephine Colingan, Teodora Palitayan, Catalina Clemente, Maria Teresa Galima, Evelyn Batalier, Zara Mapalo and Romelyn Mabutas.

Chagyomon was rated very satisfactory twice as she serves Lualhati and Upper Gibraltar CDCs, also equally rated very satisfactory and accredited up to Dec. 2022. Fajardo is also rated twice, outstanding and very satisfactory for serving Upper Rock Quarry and Andres Bonifacio CDCs.

Lower San Carlos, Upper Gibraltar, Engineer’s Hill, Light of Love CDCs with their respective child development workers has been granted accreditation from Dec. 20, 2018 up to Dec. 19, 2022. Balacbac, Lower Rock Quarry, Leonila Hill, Honeymoon-Holy Ghost CDCs accredited from Dec. 20, 2018 up to Dec. 19, 2021.

City Social Welfare and Development Officer Betty Fangasan and Mayor Mauricio Domogan assisted by CSWD personnel Liza Bulayungan and other civil service organization representatives awarded the certificates granted from the DSWD regional office.

One of DSWD’s functions is the standard-based regulation and licensing of agencies and organizations, and accreditation of social welfare programs including early childhood care on a two to five-star level. This function is anchored on Republic Acts 6972, 7160 and 8980, Memorandum Circular 17, s. 2018, Executive 221 and 340 and Presidential Decree 603.

Accredited organizations and agencies could then participate in DSWD-based capability building, skills enhancement, granted endorsement for duty-free entry of donations, technical assistance and other benefits. They are also monitored as to standards set in all legal bases set for the purpose.
