Towing team to operate 13 hours
by PIO release

The city government organized a team to implement the Towing Ordinance to help free the roads of illegally parked motor vehicles that obstruct traffic flow.

Engr. Januario Borillo, chief of the Traffic and Transport Management Division of the City Engineering Office (CEO), said that starting this month, the towing team will be operating from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. to respond to the increasing number of requests to tow stalled or illegally parked motor vehicles along the roads, especially during rush hours.

He said that requests to tow stalled or illegally parked motor vehicles have increased in the past months.

“We will have to increase the presence of the towing team in our roads and streets to ensure that stalled or illegally parked vehicles are removed and compel the owners to pay the corresponding fines,” Borillo said.

Under the city’s Towing Ordinance, owners of towed and impounded motor vehicles are fined P1,500 towing fee; P500 per day storage fee; and P115 as illegal parking fee.

Borillo expressed gratitude to concerned citizens and barangay officials who provide the CEO with the information on stalled or illegally parked vehicles in their areas of jurisdiction.

The Traffic and Transport Management Division supervises traffic auxiliary personnel hired to help in the implementation of programs, policies, and projects on traffic and transport management in the city.
