City puts up extension social welfare unit offices in brgys

The city government put up six social welfare satellite offices in various areas of the city to bring the services of the City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO) closer to the barangays.

In Administrative Order 159 s. 2018, Mayor Mauricio Domogan stressed the need to set up social welfare unit offices in the different areas based on the population, land area, and number of barangays to reach out to more clients and deliver quality services.

The CSWDO headed by Betty Fangasan is mandated to “provide social protection and promote the rights and welfare of the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals, families and communities to contribute to poverty alleviation and empowerment through social welfare and development policies.

The satellite offices will implement the programs and services community welfare family and emergency welfare, child and youth welfare, women welfare, and senior citizen and persons with disability welfare.
