City Hall employee caught in buy bust for selling shabu
by Hanna C. Lacsamana

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera warned that the illegal drug war applies to everyone, regardless of status or position.

The warning came following the arrest of a city public employee for allegedly selling illegal drugs.

PDEA anti-narcotics agents and city police arrested Randolph Ryan Marrero Estigoy, alias Randy, 39, a resident of Happy Glenn Loop, Salud Mitra; and ticket checker of the Baguio City Treasury Office in a sting operation at Laubach Road, Upper General Luna on March 6.

Authorities said Estigoy was caught for selling a heat-sealed sachet containing suspected shabu worth P10,000 to an undercover agent.

Upon his arrest, Estigoy yielded the buy-bust money used during the transaction.

The suspect is temporarily detained at the PDEA jail facility and will be charged before the proper authorities for violating Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act Number 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In a press release, PDEA Director Edgar S. Apalla said Estigoy’s arrest serves as a stern warning to public officials and employees to veer away from illegal drug activities.

“There will be no let up in cleansing the government of drug personalities,” he said.
