by Rimaliza A. Opiña

The son was made to answer for the sins of the father.

The suspect in the killing of an eight-year-old boy, who was found bloodied with severe injuries to the head owned up to the crime, saying in an interview with a local radio station that he exacted revenge against the boy’s father over alleged unfulfilled agreements between the two of them.

The suspect, 26-year-old Randy Doria, was arrested by personnel of Police Station 5, after witnesses said he was last seen with the boy, minutes before his body was found at a grassy portion the Old Library parking area.

The Courier has yet to obtain an affidavit if Doria affirmed his statement made to the media.

Initial information gathered by the police showed that the boy’s body was seen at around 11:15 a.m., last July 5. The police report stated the boy was hit several times on the head with a rock, which was recovered from the crime scene beside the boy’s body.

The crime scene was processed by Scene of the Crime Operatives led by C/Insp. Juliet Albon.

Police said the suspect is a native of San Carlos City, Pangasinan but with no permanent address here in Baguio City. His source of income is said to be a “scrapper.”

A case of murder against Doria has been submitted by the police to the City Prosecutor’s Office.
