Public hearing set for 5 measures

Five proposed ordinances on traffic and road concerns are set for public consultation on Oct. 18, 9 a.m. at the multipurpose hall Baguio City Hall.

These are proposed ordinance 69-17 introduced by Councilor Lilia Fariñas entitled “Amending Section 1 (Speed Restriction), Article X of the Transportation and Traffic Ordinance of Baguio and declaring areas in the city to be established as no speeding zones or slow speed zones;

Proposed ordinance 76-17 by Councilor Mylen Yaranon entitled “Prohibited uses within the right-of-way of national roads, city and barangay streets and providing penalties therefor;”

Proposed ordinance 101-17 by Councilor Michael Lawana entitled “Regulating the use of major streets in the City of Baguio by driving schools in giving lessons and by student drivers in practical driving instructions and/or lessons and providing penalties therefor;”

Proposed ordinance 144-17 by Councilor Edgar Avila “Declaring the bill of rights for passengers and pedestrians in the City of Baguio and for other purposes;” and

Proposed ordinance 157-17 by Vice Mayor Edison Bilog, councilors Benny Bomogao, Leandro Yangot Jr., Avila, Joel Alangsab, Faustino Olowan, Elmer Datuin, Yaranon, and Elaine Sembrano  entitled “Regulating the installation and maintenance of distribution lines of various utilities in the City of Baguio or the “Anti-Dangling Wire Ordinance of the City of Baguio.”

Stakeholders have been invited to attend the public hearing.
