SSS shifts execs amid stock investment issue
by Press release

State-run Social Security System has confirmed the re-assignment of its officials involved in a stock investment controversy and are subjects of an administrative case.

The agency said the re-assignments of executives have been implemented in the exigency of service.

The SSS administration said the action will also pave way for an objective, transparent, and fair investigation of the ongoing administrative complaint, and due process will be strictly observed in the investigation. Charges in the administrative complaint are subject to investigation.

The re-assignment will also avoid any suspicion that the ongoing investigation will be white-washed.

The SSS reiterated that it has institutionalized procedures to address administrative complaints. Such mechanisms ensure all parties are given due process.

The agency said it guarantees its members that the Investment Reserve Fund, which came from members’ contributions and investment income, is intact, well-protected, and professionally managed.

The management also assured its members that no SSS fund was used or compromised in the issue.

The SSS statement came in light of the allegations that some of its executives have been using its stockbrokers for their personal benefit.
