SP sessions shift to Burnham concerns
by Aileen P. Refuerzo / PIO

The continuing legislative consultations by the city council will shift to concerns affecting Burnham Park.

The city council committee on public protection and safety, peace and order has invited all concessionaires in the city’s premiere park to a public consultation on Dec. 5 at 8 a.m. at the Benguet Electric Cooperative Pedro Dumol Hall in South Drive.

Vice Mayor Edison Bilog will convene the consultation meant to gather inputs on the proposal to amend Ordinance 68 s. 1968.

The ordinance prescribes the rules and regulations for boating in the Burnham Lake, fixes the rates of the use of boats, and provides penalties for violators.

They will also tackle the proposed amendments to Ordinance 427 s. 1966 or An Ordinance Amending Section 4 of Ordinance 243 Fixing Rates for the Recreational Vehicles Operating at Burnham Park and Providing for Other Purposes.”

Secretary to the Sanggunian Brenner Bengwayen said other issues concerning the park are expected to be discussed during the hearing which will run until 5 p.m.

Over the past several weeks, the committee has been conducting series of consultations and summits. Recently, the committee hosted a summit for the security of schoolchildren. The event was done at the same  venue.
