SLU launches annual employment fair
by Ma Regina Alabanza

Saint Louis University will open its yearly job fair dubbed “SLU Sikap 2017” on April 20 at the Prince Bernhard Gym, SLU main campus and on April 21 at the Devesse Plaza, SLU Maryheights campus.

The Guidance Center and External Relations, Media Communications and Alumni Affairs Office are the offices in charge of the program.

This year, SLU chose the word “Sikap” for it encompasses the overall objective of the job fair to showcase the diligence and perseverance of the Filipino workforce.

The University aims to reach a greater number of participants with the collaboration of the two offices.

SLU Sikap job fair is driven out of the intention of strengthening the ties between the Louisian community and its industry-academe linkages.

By reaching out to more companies in both the local and national scenes, the program will bring better job opportunities closer to home resulting to a better quality of life for SLU professionals.

The program will be able to yield a greater roster of companies across industries in the market.  It shall host those in the field of Business, Natural Sciences, Engineering and Architecture, Teacher Education and Liberal Arts, and Information Technology.  As stated in the program’s rationale.

SLU shall continue to hone individuals who will be transformative leaders of the community and the church.  The Louisian community will strive to continue its mission of producing quality products of graduates who are creative, socially involved, competent and driven by Christian Spirit.

From Gawad San Luis that honors its loyal employees for their loyalty and dedication to the institution, to Handog ng SLU sa Baguio, which extends the services of the institution to the community, it’s time to put steadfast clients, the students and graduates, in a better light and hopefully build them a better future through Sikap, according to the organizers.

SLU graduating students and alumni are welcome to join the program on either or both dates from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Log on to follow for more details.
