Baguio Blooms operate ’til April
by Rimaliza A. Opiña

The Baguio Blooms landscape exposition and trade fair will be allowed to operate until April to give the operators time to recover monies they spent in participating in the activity.

“Bibigyan natin sila ng panahong makabawi,” Mayor Benjamin Magalong said in a press conference last Wednesday.

He said he already received complaints from the exhibitors that they have not been earning as much compared to when the Blooms operated at Burnham Park.

He said the panic brought about the cancellation of the Panagbenga opening parade and other major events in the city has also affected foot traffic at the Baguio Convention Center compound, this year’s venue of the exposition.

The mayor said he will not allow transfer of the Baguio Blooms at Burnham Park. But as compromise, he will allow the exhibitors to operate until April.

Baguio Blooms usually operates for one month beginning Feb. 1 of every year.
