The provincial government of Mountain Province is this year’s national Kabalikat awardee.

The award, given by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, is bestowed on partners to recognize their contribution in the promotion and enhancement of Technical Education and Skills Development.

Gov. Bonifacio C. Lacwasan received the regional Kabalikat Award on Aug. 28 in Baguio City and the national Kabalikat Award on Aug. 30 in Taguig City.

The provincial government has been an active partner in the implementation of Technical and Vocation Education Training programs and services for almost 14 years.

Every year, the provincial government allocates an amount as support to Tesda for the education and skills training of its constituents.

It also acknowledges that Tesda is one of the most important government agencies in the country, which is why it makes the agency more relevant so more people can benefit from the programs and services and eventually help them find employment.

Aside from providing skills training for the community, it also provides support and intervention for persons deprived of liberty, persons with disability, rebel returnees, and other sectors.

The provincial government also continues to employ applicants under job order and contract of service.

Most of the staff members of the provincial government, specifically in the motor pool and general services have national certificates in masonry, carpentry and driving.
