7 MP firms get Bagwis Award

BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Department of Trade and Industry conferred the Bagwis Bronze Award on seven business establishments in the province. 

DTI Provincial Director Juliet Lucas and Provincial Administrator Amador Batay-an awarded a certificate and the Bagwis signage to each of the six new awardees and one re-certification.

The new awardees are the New Stop and Shop in Nacagang, Sabangan; Lumnay Enterprise and PMA Trading of Poblacion; and Nicolai Construction Supplies and General Merchandise of Lower Caluttit, all in this municipality; and Rockview General Merchandise of Demang and Rockview Grocery in Poblacion, Sagada.

The Boaging Store in Poblacion, Bauko that was conferred the Bagwis Bronze Award in the previous years received re-certification.

The Bagwis award, is good for three years, recognizes establishments that uphold the rights of consumers while practicing responsible business where consumers get the best value for their money.

The award, formerly known as the DTI-certified establishment, has three categories. For the bronze award, the business establishment must be compliant to Fair Trade Law, has customer relations, and good store management operation.

The silver awardee must have achieved the bronze requirements and must be socially committed and responsible business.

The gold awardee must have achieved the silver requirements plus some elements aligned with ISO 9001.

Lucas said 19 business establishments in the province have already been conferred the Bagwis Bronze Award.
