TINOC, Ifugao – The Department of Agrarian reform turned over P5.014 million worth of post-harvest facility to the Kalanguya Cultural Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative (KCCMPC) on May 31 in Barangay Poblacion this town.

The warehouse measures 240 square meters and has a capacity of 10,000 cavans with an 84-square meter office space.

The project was implemented under the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project III and funded by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation.

During the turnover, Gov. Pedro Mayam-o congratulated members of the cooperative, saying that through the cooperative, they were able to humble themselves and help one another like true Christians should do.

He also reminded the cooperative of its corporate social responsibility and the members to be good examples in the community.

Mayor Marcelo Catalino expressed hope that the building will be used, maintained, and be made fruitful to uplift the lives of the farmers.

Depending on the coop’s track record, he said the local government unit could provide assistance, if needed.

DAR Assistant Regional Director Robert Ampaguey said that the project must be maximized and used as planned, especially since the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program audit is conducted every two to three years.

The KCCMPC, composed of 1,197 members achieved the highest level in cooperative maturity, as of 2017.

Agustin C. Calaya-en is the manager and Joan Jovita Uybaan chairs the board of directors.
