TESDA-Ifugao trains on hairdressing
by PIA-Ifugao

KIANGAN, Ifugao – The Technological Education and Skills Development Authority is training 19 individuals on hairdressing to help them in obtaining National Competency II (NC II) certificates.

The trainees came from poor but interested families and drug surrenderers from the town who completed their community-based rehabilitation program at the Ifugao Reflection Camp.

Funded under the Barangay Kabuhayan Skills Training Program of the Tesda, the participants will train for 25 days before they are issued their NC II certificates.

After their training, the participants will be provided an amount that they can use to start their own business endeavor.

They can also use the amount to seek employment in the country or abroad.

The project is a continuing joint undertaking of the local government unit of Kiangan and Tesda.

It aims to provide opportunities for those needing assistance to improve their living situation and to help drug surrenderers start a new and productive life.

Republic Act 9509 or the Barangay Kabuhayan Act establishes livelihood and skills training centers in the fourth, fifth and sixth class municipalities to open employment opportunities, combat poverty and improve the quality of life of Filipinos.
