More rebels are turning themselves in to law enforcement authorities in their desire to pursue a new life.

After the presentation of two former rebels at the Benguet Provincial Police Office last week, two more have turned themselves in to authorities on July 23.

Ka Nardo, who hails from Mountain Province and Ka Darang from Kalinga appeared before Benguet PPO Director, Col. Elmer E. Ragay, and Police Regional Office-Cordillera Regional Intelligence Division Chief, Col. Rene Pasiwen, and declared their intention to surrender.

Ka Nardo, who was a member of the Leonardo Pacsi Command, turned over a U.S. garand rifle while Ka Darang, who belonged to the Marcial Daggay Command, surrendered a homemade carbine.

The former rebels were presented at Camp Dennis Molintas in Bangao, Buguias, the home base of the Provincial Mobile Force Company, which is at the forefront of anti-insurgen cy     campaigns.

The rebel returnees signified their intention to surrender after a series of negotiations conducted by various law enforcement units, including the Provincial Intelligence Unit and the municipal police stations of La Trinidad, Buguias, and Mankayan, Benguet and Bauko MPS in Mountain Province.

Rebel returnees are assisted by the government through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), a program that provides them a complete package of assistance, including provision of financial assistance, livelihood training to help them lead normal lives, and housing assistance, among other benefits.
