DepEd recognizes schools with best Brigida practices

EXCELLENCE IN BRIGADA --Department of Education-Cordillera officials led by OIC-Asst. Dir. LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The Department of Education-Cordillera recognized this year’s Best Brigada Eskwela implementers and most sustained partner local government units last week.

Luba Central School in Luba, Abra was adjudged as the Best Implementer under the Elementary Level-Small School Category.

Sipa Elementary School in Sta. Marcela, Apayao came in second followed by Wangwang ES in Tinoc, Ifugao in third place.

Under the Medium School Category, Holy Ghost Extension ES in Baguio City won first place followed by Sta. Marcela Central School of Sta. Marcela, Apayao and Loo ES in Buguias, Benguet.

Alfonso Lista Central School in Alfonso Lista, Ifugao emerged the best implementer under the Large School category while Quezon Hill ES in Baguio City and Flora Central School in Flora, Apayao came in second and third, respectively.

In the secondary level, Adaoay National High School (NHS)-Abucot Extension in Kabayan, Benguet bested others to cap the Best Implementer award. Balaoa NHS in Tadian, Mountain Province settled for second while Happy Hallow NHS in Baguio City came in third.

In the Medium School category, An-anaao Integrated School in Tayum, Abra garnered first place while Bac-Da NHS in Luna, Apayao and Baguio City NHS-Fort del Pilar Annex in Baguio City got second and third places, respectively.

Proclaimed best implementer in the Large School category was Flora NHS in Flora, Apayao while Mil-an NHS in Baguio City came in second and Cristina B. Gonzales Memorial High School came in third.

Awarded most sustained schools were Lamut Central School in Lamut, Ifugao and Manabo NHS in Manabo, Abra.

Meanwhile, the two biggest public schools in Baguio, BCNHS and Baguio Central School, were elevated to the hall of fame for winning in the Mega School category in the elementary and secondary levels for three straight years.

Coming in second place in the Mega School-elementary level is La Trinidad Central School in La Trinidad.

Abra NHS in Bangued, Abra and Tublay School of Home Industries in Tublay, Benguet came in second and third under the Mega School-Secondary level category. Mega schools have 51 and above teachers.

LGUs have sustained their support over the years to the winning schools were likewise recognized by the basic education agency.

Municipalities acknowledged included Lamut and Alfonso Lista in Ifugao, Flora in Apayao, Baguio City, Kabayan in Benguet; and Lubo, Manabo, and Tayum in Abra.

The Brigada Eskwela is an annual event of DepEd, which aims to bring together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, effort, and resources to prepare public school facilities.
